Digital Citizenship Workshop
For Grade 4
Learn about technology and its impact.  We’ll cover digital literacy and safety through an interactive and fun experience.  This program will be led by LYSB staff, LOL Schools technology staff, and high school leaders.  Students will create a digital project during the five-week program, which will culminate in an evening celebration event with parents and families to showcase student projects on March 7th at LOLMS.  Students will receive a t-shirt and swag.  Space is limited.

ENGINEERING AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Aspiring Engineers!
for Grades 3 and up
Five Mondays: March 25, April 1, 15, 22, 29, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

This program is a wide-ranging exploration of our customized S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics) curriculum! Using a variety of teaching mediums, students will explore real-world applications of S.T.E.A.M. concepts and terminology through hands-on, minds-on activities. With activities ranging from model roller coasters, to LEGO® engineering challenges, to bridge building, participants are sure to have fun while learning along the way!  Students may take the bus to LYSB from Lyme and Mile Creek Schools.  Fee: $125

Engineering FUNdamentals
for Grades K-2
Session I: Four Thursdays: March 28, April 4, 18, 25, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Session II: Four Thursdays: May 2, 9, 16, 23, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Students will learn from a customized S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics) curriculum while having FUN! The primary medium used for these classes is LEGO® TECHNIC which is an attractive, efficient teaching medium. We strive to challenge students in taking their engineering to the next level using our customized LEGO® curriculum. From the creativity and gratification encouraged by LEGO®, students always enjoy themselves while learning essential engineering terms and concepts along the way! Students may take the bus to LYSB from Lyme and Mile Creek Schools.  Fee: $100

GIRLS CIRCLE

Two Mondays: February 5 & 12, 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

An empowerment program for girls in grades 4 & 5
“The shortest distance between isolation and belonging is a Circle.”
Join us each week for a new theme and activity designed to increase girls’ self esteem, body image, and social support. During this program girls will:
*Develop connections and feel included
*Build strong interpersonal skills
*Strengthen self-care and well-being, even under stress
*Dissolve barriers to respect, confidence, and empathy
*Nurture friendships
This program is free.
Students can ride the bus to LYSB from Lyme and Mile Creek Schools.

ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL CLUB

For Grades 2-5
Every Wednesday, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
First Day is September 6, 2023
Come to the LYSB Etherington Activity Center to hang out with your friends and participate in a variety of fun activities. We’ll do arts and crafts projects as well as play basketball, Wii, and much more! Snacks and refreshments are provided. Students from Mile Creek and Lyme Schools will take the bus directly to LYSB. Space is very limited. Space limited.  Fee: $200/year.

MOTHER/DAUGHTER WORKSHOP: Let’s Start Talking

For Girls in Grade 5 & 4

Open the lines of communication with your daughter! Designed to give girls a better understanding of the changes that her body will go through during puberty. Topics will include the importance of a positive body image and how to deal with difficult situations. A fun and educational night out for girls in 4th and 5th grade and their mothers. Cost is $50 per pair and includes resource materials, goodie bags and snacks. Patty Cournoyer, LOLMS health teacher facilitates this course.

A special evening for 5th Graders & Their Parents

Join us for a hands-on evening to create a family road map for success in middle school.
Led by LYSB and High School Youth Leaders.
We will address concerns, fears, and build excitement for LOLMS!!
Interactive activities to connect, communicate, and develop prevention strategies that are unique to your family.
