ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL CLUB

For Grades 2-5
Every Wednesday, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
First Day is September 8, 2021.

Come to the LYSB Etherington Activity Center to hang out with your friends and participate in a variety of fun activities. We’ll do arts and crafts projects as well as play basketball, Wii, and much more! Snacks and refreshments are provided. Students from Mile Creek and Lyme Schools will take the bus directly to LYSB. Space is very limited. MASKS REQUIRED, space limited.  Fee: $200/year.

ENGINEERING AFTER SCHOOL

Aspiring Young Engineers!

Session I (ages 5-8) six weeks, 4:00-6:00 p.m., Thursdays September 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21
Session II (ages 9 and up) six weeks, 4:00-6:00 p.m., Thursdays November 4, 11, 18, December 2, 9, 16 
Discover the spectacular world of engineering through hands-on, minds-on activities! Students apply problem solving and critical thinking skills to explore our S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics) based curriculum. Participants will use a variety of mediums such as recycled materials, salvaged motors and gears, balsa wood, LEGO®, and more.  With activities ranging from bridges, to rockets, to green engineering, participants are sure to have a blast while learning fundamental engineering terms and concepts along the way!  Students can take the bus from Mile Creek and Lyme Schools directly to LYSB.  Fee $125/ six week session, scholarships available.  Masks required.

MOTHER/DAUGHTER WORKSHOP: Let’s Start Talking

For Girls in Grade 5 & 4
October 25, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m
November 2, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Open the lines of communication with your daughter! Designed to give girls a better understanding of the changes that her body will go through during puberty. Topics will include the importance of a positive body image and how to deal with difficult situations. A fun and educational night out for girls in 4th and 5th grade and their mothers. Cost is $50 per pair and includes resource materials, goodie bags and snacks. Patty Cournoyer, LOLMS health teacher facilitate this course.  MASKS REQUIRED, space limited due to social distancing.

MACHINE SEWING EXPLORATIONS

Tuesdays November 9, 16, 30 and Dececember 7, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Grades 3 and up.

Here’s your chance to learn all about machine sewing! Design and sew a small patchwork lap quilt and matching stuffed animal. Hand and machine sewing techniques will be explored. Students can take the bus from Lyme or Mile Creek Schools directly to LYSB. Masks are required. $125.00 includes supplies and use of sewing machines, scholarships available.

PRESSED FLOWERS WORKSHOP

Saturday, November 13, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Lyme Pollinator Pathways’ Bee LYME to Spring program comes to LYSB!  We’ll make bookmarks with native pressed wildflowers.  This is the perfect gift for the reader in your life. Program is free, but registration is required.
