ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL CLUB

For Grades 2-5
Every Wednesday, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
First Day is September 7, 2022
Come to the LYSB Etherington Activity Center to hang out with your friends and participate in a variety of fun activities. We’ll do arts and crafts projects as well as play basketball, Wii, and much more! Snacks and refreshments are provided. Students from Mile Creek and Lyme Schools will take the bus directly to LYSB. Space is very limited. Space limited.  Fee: $200/year.

LET’S GET SEWING: UPCYCLING

Four Tuesdays: September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Ages 9 and up
Learn the basics of machine and hand sewing while designing accessories using upcycled textiles.Old denim jeans, flannel shirts and sweaters will be transformed into scarves, pillows, and tote bags. Embroidery, hand stitching, button sewing and machine techniques will be taught. Reduce, reuse,recycle! Machines will be provided or students are welcome to bring their own. Fee: $140, includes all supplies

LET’S GET SEWING: COZY QUILTS

Four Tuesdays: November 1, 15, 29, December 6, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Ages 9 and up
Learn the fundamentals of machine and hand sewing while designing and stitching a cozy patchwork quilt. Decorate your patchwork with embroidered and appliqued designs. Machines will be provided or students are welcome to bring their own. Fee: $140 includes all supplies.

MOTHER/DAUGHTER WORKSHOP: Let’s Start Talking

Monday, November 7, 2022, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
For Girls in Grade 5 & 4

Open the lines of communication with your daughter! Designed to give girls a better understanding of the changes that her body will go through during puberty. Topics will include the importance of a positive body image and how to deal with difficult situations. A fun and educational night out for girls in 4th and 5th grade and their mothers. Cost is $50 per pair and includes resource materials, goodie bags and snacks. Patty Cournoyer, LOLMS health teacher facilitates this course.
