Mondays, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Age: One-ish to Two-ish

In this playgroup you will enjoy both inside and outside play. Hands on fun! A variety of child safe activities will inspire and exercise your child’s inquisitive brain. Encouraging the exploration of sensory experiences with a variety of unique materials. Leave the mess to us while your child experiments with textures, creative expression, & simple construction. Sensory, simple water play, group time, crafts, and a story.

TUESDAYS

PRE-PRESCHOOL PLAYGROUP

Meets twice a week on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Ages 2 to 5, Twice a week 
Pre-Preschool meets two times a week with parents guiding their child in a preschool environment. The LYSB “classroom” days on Tuesdays and Thursdays will include 2 hours each morning. Free play, center-based learning, circle time, stories, art, and a snack brought from home (no peanut snacks please) will be taking place on our campus. The group will focus on building independence, social skills, cognitive development, motor skills and creativity based on the Montessori style of learning. Later in the session we hope to offer parents the opportunity to leave briefly, on a rotating basis.

WEDNESDAYS

DISCOVERING PLAY

Wednesdays, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Age: Two-ish

Play is learning. Play allows a child to use their senses, practice language skills, & feelings. They learn about themselves and things around them. They learn to follow simple directions and play with others.

Did you know that blocks are considered the perfect toy and have nine developmental stages? All play stimulates your child’s imagination and enhances social, language, motor, and intellectual skills. Play is the way a child learns, it allows the child to make choices, have self-expression, develop his self-image, & allows expression of emotions.

MUSIC WITH MISS KAITE

Fridays 9:15 to 10:00 a.m.

Ages 0-5

• SESSION I: January 3 – Jan. 31, five weeks, $100
• SESSION II: February 28 to April 4, six weeks, $120

Shake eggs, bang drums, dance with scarves and more – even learn some basic sign language!
Kaite will lead you in a fun & research based early childhood music & movement environment designed for birth – age 5 years and the grown-ups who love them. Bring your baby, toddler, & preschooler. We will discover the joy of an interactive playful family music & movement class that supports all learning!  The two sessions do not duplicate lessons.  New stuff each week!

BABIES GROUP

Fridays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Ages 0 to 1, 6 weeks, free

For new and expecting parents of children up to 12 months. This group is casual, comfortable, and informative. Meet other parents of babies.  We will cover weekly topics of interest based on your questions and concerns commonly found during the first year of parenting. Meeting in the child friendly atmosphere of Mimi’s Place at LYSB. Join anytime.
