MONDAYS

INFANT & BABY MASSAGE
Mondays, September 14, 21 & 28, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Ages Infant to crawler, 3 weeks, free
Led by Arleen Sharp, IAIM Certified Infant Massage Instructor
Infant massage is a great way to communicate and comfort your baby. It has positive outcomes for your baby now and throughout life. Pressure, rate, rhythm, the length of the massage, respect, and bonding, why babies cry, baby’s body language, relaxation, and parent empowerment are some of the skills and topics we will cover. You will learn and practice massaging your own baby during this class. Your instructor is there to guide you and will not come into contact with your child. This group will be held in the LYSB Activity Center and the number or participants is very limited to ensure your safety.

BIG BOOK GROUPS

  • My 5 Senses: A Lions Tale
    Tuesday, September 29th , 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
    Ages 2ish and up, $5
    In this extra-large book see, feel, smell, taste, and hear what our friendly lion does during the story. Lion crafts and games will also take place. All groups will meet outside weather permitting.

  • Mrs. Spider’s Tea Party
    Tuesday, October 13, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
    Ages 2ish and up, $5
    Find out how a lonely spider makes friends in the extra-large book. We will enjoy a spider craft and tea party after the book. All groups will meet outside weather permitting.

PLAYDOUGH OCTOBER SPECIAL!
Tuesday, October 27, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Ages 1.5 and up, $5
Children: come to play with several types of homemade playdough. Adults: learn how to make it yourself by making a kit to take home. The group will meet outside, weather permitting.

DINO DAYS
Wednesdays, September 9 through 30, 10:00 t0 11:00 a.m.
Ages 2 and up, 4 weeks, $32.00
Come play in the world of dinosaurs! Dinosaurs are intriguing and full of mystery. It is easy to get excited and curious with a dinosaur theme. We will start with free play, read a dinosaur story, and make a craft. All groups will meet outside, weather permitting. Space is limited.

MUSIC & MOVEMENT WEDNESDAYS (Session II)
Wednesdays, October 7 through 28, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Ages 2 and up, 4 weeks $32.00
This group is full of activity! We will sing, dance, play instruments, challenge coordination, practice following directions, and get creative. All groups will meet outside, weather permitting. Space is limited.
• October 7: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, playing rhythm sticks, rackets, personal twister, and pompom dance.
• October 14: Singing Itsy Bitsy Spider, playing drums, hoop toss, parachute activities, and hoop dance.
• October 22: Singing B-I-N-G-O, playing boom sticks, silly feet, stretching, and dance ribbons.
• October 28: Singing Slippery Fish, playing maracas, obstacle course, bouncing balls, and scarf dance.

This group is full of activity! We will sing, dance, play instruments, challenge coordination, practice following directions, and get creative. All groups will meet outside, weather permitting. Space is limited.
• September 10: Singing Little Peter Rabbit, playing tambourines, egg + spoon challenge, jump sacks, and scarf dance.
• September 17: Singing Mary had a Little Lamb, playing drums, parachute activities, and pompom dance
• September 24: Singing The Wheels on the Bus, playing shakey eggs, drive + spin hula hoops, hula hoop obstacle course, and umbrella dance.
• October 1: Singing If You’re Happy and You Know It, playing bell sticks, jump ropes, balancing, and dance ribbons.

CREATURES OF OCTOBER
Thursdays, October 8, 13, 20, 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. 
Ages 2 and up, 4 weeks, $32.00
They are creepy and they are crawly and they are often out at night. Let’s read stories, sing songs, and make a craft to help us get to know the creatures of October a little better! All groups will meet outside, weather permitting. Morning Pre-School children are welcome to join this group and should bring a snack or lunch to eat before the fun starts.

FRIDAYS

NEW PARENTS MEET & GREET
Friday September 25th, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Ages newborn up to 1 year, free
Join us on the grounds of LYSB to meet other parents and babies. Strollers and carriers welcome. Enjoy some open air chatting with other parents. Get to know your neighbors and who your children may be starting school with in a few years. The group will meet outside, weather permitting, and our buildings will only be open for nursing moms and diaper changing. Perhaps take a stroll down Lyme street after the group meets.

SENSORY PLAYGROUP
Fridays, October 2, 16, and 30, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Ages 1 and up, 3 weeks, $15
Each week your child will have the opportunity to explore fun and sometimes messy sensory play. Each child will be given his own container or tray to play with to their heart’s content (no group sensory bins will take place). The group will meet outside, weather permitting. The sensory materials are baby safe.
