Early Childhood


Mondays, 9:30 -10:45 Age 2 .5 and up.
Oct. 21st – Nov. 18th ~ 5 weeks $40.
Each week we will work to build a vocabulary of useful signs through songs, stories and activities. We will also touch upon the usefulness of signs for communicating across language barriers and accepting those with hearing difficulties.

Mondays, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

For moms and parents of babies – newborn up to 12 months.
The group is casual, comfortable, and informative. Weekly topics of interest are based on
the diversity of your own questions, hopes, desires and concerns commonly found during
the first year of parenthood. Meeting in the child friendly atmosphere of Mimi’s Place at
LYSB, nursing moms and diaper changing always welcome! Expectant moms welcome.

Tuesdays, 9:15 -10:15 a.m., Ages 1 and up.
Come explore fun (and sometimes messy) sensory play based on the theme of the week. Leave the mess to us, as your children explore their sensory world and interact with other children. We will also make time for a snack and free play.

Come create with us in this playgroup for 2.5-5 year olds. Children will learn how to create a themed project every week by designing, crafting, and expressing themselves through their work of art to bring home. Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to join in on the fun. Some projects are messy and may require some adult assistance. All materials will be provided. We will also make time for a snack and free play.

Welcome to the little friends who are curious about the little six legged critters. We will have free play, a bug story, a bug craft, a snack, and outdoor exploration for our little naturalists to find bugs. At the final session each child can create a personal field guide with pictures from the bugs we observe.

Join us for this one day workshop of fun with fashion for 3ish-5 year olds. Spend time creating your own unique projects; tutus, hair clips, necklaces, and more! Parents/caregivers are encouraged to join in on the fun! All materials will be provided. Come ready to create and express yourselves!

A light hearted look at common topics and parenting dilemmas during your child’s first year. Parents will enjoy a short lively chat during circle time. Feel free to share your joys and predicaments. Supporting handouts will be available. Children will explore, play, meet new friends, make new discoveries, and enjoy an age appropriate projects each week.

Meet moms looking to exercise in a fun environment with their babies in tow. This group is for moms interested in the total body fitness classes offered by Stroller Strides. Taught by nationally certified fitness instructors specializing in pre and postnatal fitness all class are designed to be challenging for all fitness levels.
