This mixed age group features 75 minutes of hands on activities, encouraging even the youngest child to engage in the exploration of sensory experiences with a variety of unique materials. Leave the mess to us while your child experiments with textures, creative expression, & simple construction, while interacting with other children.  Led by Melanie Lee.

III. Thursdays 12:30-1:30 p.m., February 2nd to May 25th ,  free

For new and expecting moms and parents of children up to 12 months. This group is casual, comfortable, and informative. Weekly topics of interest are based on the diversity of your own questions and concerns commonly found during the first year of parenting. Meeting in the child friendly atmosphere of Mimi’s Place a LYSB. Join anytime.

Five Thursdays: April 20 through May 18, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Interactions between parents and their children are full of disruptions, miscommunications and misunderstandings.  This workshop series is designed to give parents with children of any age a ‘map’ for understanding and responding to their children’s emotional needs and behaviors.  Parents will learn new ways to see their child’s needs and gain skills that will increase cooperation.  This program is free but registration is required.

Music with Margie is a “joy-based” music and movement preschool program for young children based on the simple truth that children learn and retain knowledge through PLAY! By teaching in a multi-sensory fashion, using music, rhythm, and rhyme, children gain the skills they need for kindergarten in a setting of relaxation and fun. Enthusiastically performed, written, and taught by Connecticut-born Margie Warner.  Weekly topics include everything from families to weather to dinosaurs – all in a fun, safe environment. Margie is a member of both ASCAP and the Connecticut Storytelling Center.

Learn to massage your baby is with the help of an IAIM Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI). The strokes and of massage are easier to grasp when demonstrated by experienced instructors. Pressure, rate, rhythm, the length of the massage, respect, and bonding, why babies cry, baby’s body language, relaxation, and parent empowerment are some of the skills and topics you will learn.

LYSB offers 1-2-3 Magic to help parents find solutions to the challenges of disciplining children ages 2-12. This program is based on the best-selling book by Thomas W. Phelan. Ph.D.  The group will be led by Arleen Sharp, LYSB Parent Educator.

Meet moms looking to exercise in a fun environment with their babies in tow. This group is for moms interested in the total body fitness classes offered by Stroller Strides. Taught by nationally certified fitness instructors specializing in pre and postnatal fitness all class are designed to be challenging for all fitness levels. Any level of exerciser is encouraged to join – Pregnant, newly pregnant and post-partum. Join us! Your first class is free!
